COLOUR
Colour can vary from screen to actual fibre. Colour appears different on different types of yarn and different shades of white or natural coloured yarn.

HOW ITS MADE
Colour palettes are different then colour books. How I make palettes is I take the closest colour from my colour book collections and adjust and test until it matches up with my digital palette… there is the odd colour that is very close and the odd colour that might be the same...like some cream, whites, neutrals and blacks. It takes me about a week to complete and organise into a PDF :)

INSTRUCTIONS
Weigh out your dye recipe amounts in grams or first make a 1% solution for each Dharma dye used in this palette. Measure the recipe amounts in in mls and mix the into one cup or jar. Mix well. Place in dye bath or use your favourite dyeing method. Measure in grams is optional with basic math required.

The amounts shown for each recipe are based on 100g of fibre. If you want more saturation, double the recipe. If you want less saturation, divide the amounts in half. If you want to dye more shades of the same colour on various fibre amounts, consider using a dye calculation chart for quick reference. Available in the Muffs Etsy shop.

SCREEN COLOUR VARIES
The screen colour sample photo and actual yarn colour can vary. The photos are best used as a guide only. Sometimes a colour may not come out right - make sure to double check that the amounts were measured correctly. I recommend making small samples before dyeing 100g or more of yarn.

ABOUT
♥ My name is Lori and as a graphic designer turned fibre artist, with background in colour theory, I have always loved colour and absolutely love mixing dyes. This colour collection was meticulously hand picked, adjusted and then tested on 1g of natural ecru wool yarn. You can experiment by over dyeing white, grey and other shades of natural yarn. Colours appear different on different fibre types. For example, I have found the colours to appear more vibrant on bright white Mohair yarn, deeper on Merino 4ply and less vibrant on uncombed wool roving.
